About Counselling

What is it about counselling that helps?
I think this recent feedback from one of my clients says it best (reproduced with permission):

"To be listened to by a non judgemental person is very emotionally healing. Jo made it possible for me to say anything I needed to say in a safe, secure, trusting environment...it has given me greater perspective, and enabled me to be more objective, and see that I am empowered to take control of my circumstances, to a greater or lessser degree. Counselling is an effective sounding board, to unravel your emotions & thoughts, and enables clarity. This is what I have found personally."

What issues can counselling help with?
Counselling can help with any personal issue that may be troubling you or preventing you from living a fulfilling life.

You may have suffered a loss or bereavement, be struggling with a relationship or perhaps experiencing stress or depression. Or you may wish to explore aspects of your nature that trouble you, that you'd like to feel differently about or possibly change. These are just a few examples. Ultimately it's about what's important to you, and what you talk about in counselling is your choice.
